A new film called The True Cost takes an in-depth look into the impact of the global garment industry on the people and the planet – particularly in the wake of the Rana Plaza disaster when an eight-story garment factory, which at the time was making clothes for major western brands, collapsed in Bangladesh killing over 1000 people and injuring thousands.
