Pancake day has been and gone, but the British freerange egg industry has narrowly avoided being splattered.
Millions of UK eggs will temporarily lose their free-range status after hens were forced to spend weeks inside barns as part of emergency bird flu measures.
Consumers will see a special sticker on egg boxes, telling them whats happened, but if the situation happens again, free range egg producers could go out of business.
