The Hypnotist: Unlock Your Resources to Sell
This episode seeks to empower the entrepreneurial spirit, but it could also help with developing a range of skillsets across different circumstances. However for those setting out on their own after a successful sales career as an employee, it can be challenging to rediscover those tenacious and enthusiastic characteristics when you have to manage yourself. Bearing in mind that sales are usually the life-blood of a new business this episode could help those setting out to take control of their future to apply those skills in their new context.

The Hypnotist: The Village
Using the metaphor of community and collaboration within a village, Adam Cox helps with the contrast between the tendency to rush into action and an almost compulsive search for more and more research before taking action - what he describes as analysis paralysis. This session can help people at either end of this spectrum to find a balance.

Modern Mindset: Queen of Resilience
Adam Cox interviews Scarlett O'Connor, AKA The Queen of Resilience, and Miss Atlas winner about her journey from being abandoned by a narcissistic mother and alcoholic father at the age of 12, to being in a coma as a result of police brutality to becoming a beacon of hope for many. She did'nt allow a very difficult childhood and adolescence to get her down, but has succeeded through sheer determination. A quote from the Rocky movie, 'it's not how hard you can hit, but how hard you can be hit and still get up again' describes her journey well, and she's earned the title 'Queen of Resilience' from friends and colleagues who know her well. This is an inspiring example of how everyone has great potential, and how important it is to retain a positive mindset for the future, whatever the challenges.

Thought for the Week: How do the young become entrepreneurs without financial education?
Last week Jerome Mayhew MP drew attention to the dire state of financial education in the UK: a recent survey for Parliament suggested that 62% of young people had no recollection of being taught about finance in school. But how can it be given proper recognition among teaching staff when there's no Financial Awareness GCSE? Meanwhile King's College Entrepreneurship Lab has launched an inaugural essay competition for Year 12 and 13 students, designed to encourage UK Sixth Form students to pursue entrepreneurial aspirations and to understand better how to launch an enterprise. Great idea — let's give it the oxygen of publicity! Background music: 'The Plan's Working' by Cooper Cannell.

Thought for the Week: Understanding Entrepreneurs
Entrepreneurial activity is the throbbing heart of business and economic growth, but Evelyn Partners have discovered that 40% of business owners are planning to exit within the next year faced by the spectre of a massive rise in Capital Gains Tax if Labour wins next year's General Election. It's therefore critically important that the Shadow Chancellor, Rachel Reeves builds a full understanding of the dynamics of entrepreneurial endeavour and the deep level of commitment and risk shouldered by those seeking to build long-term businesses.
