Regular listeners to the show will know that our Apprentices are five members of the Share Radio team who've each been given fifteen thousand pounds of virtual money to build their own share portfolios. They have a minimum of eight stocks, which they've been buying and selling through The Share Centre. Apprentices Matt Cox and Alexi Phillips have joined me in the studio and standing by with advice and useful observations is Share Radio's Senior Analyst Ed Bowsher.

Tata Steel has made a commitment to secure jobs and production at Port Talbot and other steelworks across the UK, unions have said. It could bring an end to eight months of uncertainty for thousands of workers who faced losing their jobs when Tata's UK business was put up for sale. Community Union made the announcement following talks with Tata and other unions Unite and GMB on Wednesday. But workers still have to agree to it and will be balloted in the new year. Councillor Anthony Taylor, former worker at the Port Talbot steel plant, joined Share Radio to discuss the deal.

Investors often ask if they're getting good value for their money - but what should they look out for in companies from a legal point of view? Jonathan Deverill, Partner in the Corporate department at DAC Beachcroft, spoke with Share Radio's Simon Rose to cover the key issues.

Investors have had to be smart to steer their way through the markets this year. There have been some great opportunities for returns but of course people can and have lost all their gains and more through poor calls and bad timing.
