This is a new edition of The Apprentice Investor. Regular listeners to the programme will know that our Apprentices are five members of the Share Radio team who've each been given fifteen thousand pounds of virtual money to build their own share portfolios. They're allowed a minimum of eight stocks from different sectors which they've been buying and selling through the Share Centre. Our two apprentice investors today are Alexi Phillips and Matt Cox - and giving us his verdict on their efforts is Share Radio's senior analyst, Ed Bowsher.

Emerging Opportunities: Investigating the record investment flooding into emerging markets
This is Emerging Opportunities, the only show on radio dedicated to global emerging markets, with Juliette Foster and Gavin Serkin, the managing editor of the Frontier Funds Consultancy, Frontera News and the author of Frontier: Exploring the Top Ten Emerging Markets of Tomorrow. It's received a fair bit of cynicism as the sucker's rally according to one Reuters piece - sustained by a herd of dumb money, according to a CNBC report. But with the exception of a relatively small interruption last week, the record investment flooding into emerging markets in the past couple of months has shown little sign of ebbing, sustained by the seemingly never-ending near-zero interest rate policies of central banks in the developed world. So, what's the best way to navigate these markets? Lisa Lewin, emerging markets economist at BMI Research, part of the Fitch Ratings group - is the guest in the studio to review the news and market moves.

This is Money: Achtung!
Welcome to another episode of This is Money, brought to you in partnership with NS&I. This week, Editor Simon Lambert and Consumer Affairs Editor Lee Boyce team up with Georgie Frost to deliver you the best of financial journalism and analysis this week. And who knows where Brexit will take us, but the simple fact is for now Europe still has a profound effect. Most notably Germany this week, as serious instability at Deutsche Bank, the country’s largest bank, and massive job cuts at Commerzbank, it’s second biggest, are sending waves through the banking sector this side of the channel. It’s not all bad news for the Germans though, as their budget supermarket Aldi is eating up more of the market share in Britain, though it seems at the expense of their own profits as well. Sustainable strategy? We’ll have to wait and see. Also on the show, the World Economic Forum raises its estimation of the British economy, the Help to Buy scheme has run its course, BHS gets a digital resurrection, and the gang give their favourite of their 50 top savings tips. This is Money is presented by Georgie Frost, in partnership with NS&I.
Guests:

Simon Lambert, Lee Boyce
