The Hypnotist: Becoming a Pioneer to Your Own Ambitious Future
Adam Cox uses random generation to construct this episode, using https://earthroulette.com/ to generate a destination - Albi in the Pyrenees (the image is of Albi Cathedral), a pair of emotions - hatred and joy - and some random words: pioneer, ambition and penny (the English coin, that is!). Then he weaves his web of hypnosis using his 15 minute sand-timer and a liberal helping of 'that's right', the hypnotists' universal amplifier. Enjoy!

The Hypnotist: Confidence Hypnosis for Men
Hypnotists often find that, whereas women are better at taking pro-active action when things just aren't right, men just internalise it. The consequence is often isolation and the lack of any support groups. Their confidence could be undermined by shortcomings in stature, health, fitness or finance — there's a host of potential worries to suppress. Adam Cox provides a range of role models to show that, whatever their circumstances, men can re-connect just as they are: no need to be assailed by insecurity. And it could be helpful if/when that insecurity leads to a mis-placed yearning for male headship.

The Hypnotist: Hypnosis for Technology Addiction
Time is the scarce resource in human lives, and technology in its various forms swallows a lot of it for many of us. When its absorption into our lives becomes almost a habit or an addiction, it can cause us to miss opportunities and it can impact our character and even our identity. Whether it's gaming, social media or other online activity that turns you on, the emotional appeal is generally that instant gratification which pulls us away from experiencing real life and relationships. If you're concerned about being drawn into this trap of gaming and virtual experience, this episode could help you restore balance into your life.

The Hypnotist: Treating your body like a new Mercedes
Has an excess of food, alcohol and perhaps smoking featured in your Christmas and New Year celebrations? People generally take great care of a new car but, notwithstanding that their body is infinitely more valuable than that, there is often a real disregard for physical wellbeing. This episode invites you to listen to your body and take back control, using the analogy of caring for a new car to encourage you to cultivate an attitude of respect and appreciation for your body.

The Hypnotist: Wealth Twins - Hypnotic Wealth
Spending money on clothes or lifestyle items can be gratifying, but cast your mind into the future. The value of those purchased items is likely to be near zero: it was a short-term fix! An alternative is to consider the gratification that comes from growth: something well understood by farmers and gardeners. In money terms, that leads you towards investment, and its capacity for rising value. Of course risk is often cited as the reason why people don't invest: but surely buying something which is more likely than not to have a future value is better than buying something that will have no value? What's your take on these alternative approaches to money?

Thought for the Week: Coping with Change and Disaster
The earthquake disaster in Turkey shows yet again how little we learn from the past, and the limited attention we give to planning for the future. Constitutional principles could do much to help - but are we making best use of them? Meanwhile insurers tend to refer to natural disasters as 'Acts of God', but such a description doesn't align with with the Christian understanding that the nature of God is love. In March 2020 we recorded 'Love at the Cutting Edge' seeking to provide an answer, and it's included as the second part of this commentary. Background music: 'Elegy' by Wayne Jones; and to accompany 'Love at the Cutting Edge', Gorecki's Symphony No. 3, first movement as performed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in 1995.

Thought for the Week: Unwrapping God’s Technology
Our understanding of science moves forward relentlessly: it feels that we are not far from unwrapping the nysteries of the spiritual dimension. For example, the seemingly impossible basis of communication which is quantum entanglement, illustrated by murmurations, appears to be beyond the limitations of the known laws of physics — could this be the route by which the disciplines of spiritual and scientific endeavour can converge? Meanwhile the established Churches seem locked in tradition as they struggle to present the message of love and servant leadership which Jesus brought.
