Last week the Chancellor announced £500m worth of investment into technical education as part of the budget. Amongst the changes we'll see the introduction of new T-level qualifications aimed at teaching vocational subjects. To find out more about the investments being made Sarah Pennells spoke to Petra Wilton, Director of Strategy and External Affairs at the CMI.

Recruitment firm Morgan McKinley have recently released their UK 2017 Salary Guide revealing a year of mixed fortunes for professionals. Uncertainty has weighed heavy on the UK jobs market however it's not all doom and gloom especially for industries such as technology. New figures from disability charity Scope suggest worrying levels of workplace discrimination for Britain's disabled workers. Over half fear they're at risk of losing their job and many are even trying to hide their disability from their employers. To find out more about the scale of the problem and what employers and employees can do Georgie Frost was joined by James Taylor, head of policy and public affairs at Scope.

Despite a growing number of vacancies and demand for new workers many bosses are struggling to fill roles due to a lack of available candidates. A new report by Markit and the Recruitment & Employment Confederation, shows that January saw a marked fall in the number of applicants causing major problems for recruiters. To discuss the findings Juliette Foster was joined by Tom Hadley, Director of Policy at the REC.

A new jobs report shows salaries are beginning to show signs of improvement after a recent lull. But the research from Adzuna also shows that the number of advertised vacancies is beginning to drop. Becky Barr of Adzuna joined Juliette Foster on Share Radio Breakfast to chat through the statistics.
