The Trump administration is standing firm over its ban on immigration, despite court rulings against it. In today's wrap: the UK's biggest supermarket group, Tesco, has agreed to buy the UK's biggest food wholesaler, Booker Group; quarterly profits at BT have dropped 37%; Alliance Trust has agreed to buy out Elliott, a US activist investor that spent years pushing for management and structural changes at the Dundee-based financial services group; and the mortgage lender Paragon has reported that first quarter profits are in line with expectations due to cost controls and good trends in high margins and volumes.

The Prime Minister has become the first world leader to hold face-to-face talks with Donald Trump since his inauguration. Back home, Jo Stevens, the shadow Welsh Secetrary has resigned from Jeremy Corbyn's shadow cabinet amid party turmoil over the upcoming Brexit vote. She announced it today via twitter and becomes the second Labour MP to resign in 24 hours after Shadow education minister Tulip Siddiq also announced she was stepping down last night. For today's Share Politics, Simon Rose joined by Geraint Johnes, Professor of Economics at Lancaster University Management School, and Adam Bienkov, UK Political Editor of Business Insider

The Government has published its Article 50 bill, placing the UK on the road to departure from the European Union. The so-called 'Brexit trigger' clocks in at a mere 133 words. It must now get the approval of MPs following the Supreme Court's judgement earlier in the week. But as the Bill weaves its way through Westminster's debating floors and committee rooms, it won't just be MPs bustling away. Over in Whitehall, civil servants are preparing for the negotiations ahead, oiling the Government machinery's for the mammoth task of separating the UK from decades of EU rules and regulation. To help decipher the government's bill, and to find out if Britain's bureaucracy is ready for what comes after, Share Radio's Simon Rose was joined in the studio by Hugh Bennett, Deputy Editor at Brexit Central, and on the line by David Golten, Partner and Head of Commercial Litigation at Wedlake Bell LLP, and Gavin Freeguard, Head of Data and Transparency at the Institute for Government and author of the 2017 Whitehall Monitor - an annual health check of the UK's civil service
